Immigration Law
With 13 solicitors, supported by accredited trainees and paralegals, our
immigration department is large enough to have a national reputation for
expertise, yet small enough to ensure that every client receives a personal
service.
We are recommended as one of the top three firms in London
for personal immigration by the Chambers
and Partners Guide to the Legal Profession, who said in 2006 "the
team possesses significant depth of experience and knowledge of immigration
law", and in 2007 said our team "has excellent preparation skills
and demonstrates imagination and creativity in battle."
Our solicitors specialise
in all aspects of personal immigration work. All our solicitors have passed
the specialist Immigration Accreditation Examinations that were introduced
in 2004. Only 7 lawyers nationwide have reached the highest level (level 3) of the immigration scheme. 3 of them work at Wilson & Co.
We have extensive experience in the whole range of immigration,
asylum and nationality work, at all levels up to and including the House
of Lords and the European Court of Human Rights, and have acted in a number
of very high profile cases. We represent clients from around the world,
and have access to professional interpreters in any language. We can assist
with:
- Applications for visas and entry clearance
- Work permits and business applications
- Relationship and marriage applications
- Students
- Citizenship and nationality
- Asylum and human rights applications
- Complex extradition and national security deportation matters and contesting the imposition of control orders
We have a national reputation for our refugee work and substantial experience of representing asylum seekers through the maze of legislation. One of our cases was followed by BBC Radio 4's Broadcasting House programme. Download audio clip >>
A key feature of our approach is that no case is too
big or too small, and we bring the same dedication and professionalism
to all our work, from "routine" applications to the most high-profile
cutting-edge case. We offer competitive private fee rates. We are accredited as a quality firm by the Legal
Services Commission and Legal Aid is available (subject to eligibility).
As well as our usual rates, we can offer fixed
fees for standard applications. We also offer an initial one-hour fixed fee diagnostic appointment,
with no further obligation.
